"I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Laurie. I’ve always had a hard time maintaining a good exercise regime, my weight has yo-yoed in the past and exercise always felt like a chore—Laurie helped to change that. She is so upbeat and optimistic; I couldn’t help but believe her when she said I could get fit. She kept my workouts new and never overwhelmed me with too much weight or resistance. "I've been training with Julie Gronquist since July 2003. When I first contacted her I was having major problems with my back and I wanted to avoid surgery. She said she'd be able to get my back and core stronger, as well as overall weight training and cardio program. I decided to try working with her since the drugs from the doctors and various therapies weren't working. Julie has been an excellent asset to my overall health and attitude towards fitness! She setup a program for me with weights, Pilates and cardio. She knew what exercises I could handle, modified what I couldn't, and kept my routine changing so I didn't get bored! She also offers different training and health tips (such as getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, etc). Thanks to Julie I've been able to strengthen and tone my muscles and I've avoided surgery! I continue to work with Julie but on a different level. Now that my core is so much stronger, I've decided to compete in the October 2005 NPC Bodybuilding Competition! I have the dedication and willpower and Julie keeps me on track and motivated! Jim was referred to Julie Gronquist by a neurologist with the goal of increasing strength in his lower body and decreasing lower back pain from a previous back surgery. Because of nerve damage he had difficulty using his left leg to climb stairs. Julie designed a strength training program that Jim completes at home, and he meets with her weekly at the studio. Jim came in at about 50–60% of normal strength. He is now at 95% and is walking up stairs pain-free.
