"Julie, I wanted to let you know what a great trainer Jamie is and how thankful I am for you suggesting her for my trainer. She has provided me great diversity in exercises each week that increased in challenge, while still understanding some restrictions I had. Jamie has the right balance between pushing me to improve without impacting my ability to work the next day. Her knowledge has allowed me to regain flexibility, increase my strength and better my diet. Since beginning the program with her, I have lost 25 lbs, 4" around my waist while increasing my arms 1.5". Thanks, Terry J"

"In recent years, I've tried many times to develop good exercise habits. I've joined larger clubs, but always felt like I needed more. I often hurt myself, or just lost interest. Working with a trainer at Balance for Life was the best investment I've made in a long time. Here I found the knowledge, personal attention, and level of professionalism that helped me reach my goals. I've not only lost weight, but I've gained strength and improved my balance. I feel better than I have in years. There are so many options at Balance for Life, I have worked with a personal trainer, pilates trainer and taken pilates classes. There is no reason not to succeed here."

"Balance for Life fitness spent time getting to know my goals, my capabilities and my fitness level and designed a personalized program of cardio, weights and Pilates. The studio is small and creates an intimate, non-intimidating environment to focus on good health and fitness improvement. Julie Gronquist, my personal trainer knows when to push and when to encourage - she keeps my workouts varied and challenging and that keeps me focused. Having the one-on-one attention helped me build discipline for exercise that didn't come easily. The chemistry between trainer and client is critical to success - finding the right match that comes with the right size of studio for my goals was critical for me in my decision of where to workout. BFL provides the right solution for me".

"I've been training with Julie Gronquist since July 2003. When I first contacted her I was having major problems with my back and I wanted to avoid surgery. She said she'd be able to work with me to help get my back and core stronger, as well as overall weight training and cardio program. I decided to try working with her since the drugs from the doctors and various therapies weren't working".
"Julie has been an excellent asset to my overall health and attitude towards fitness! Thank you! She setup a program for me with weights, pilates and cardio. She knew what exercises I could handle, modified ones that I couldn't and was sure enough to keep my routine changing so I didn't get bored! She is also good at offering different training and health tips (such as getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, etc). Thanks to Julie I've been able to strengthen and tone my muscles and I've avoided surgery!"
"I continue to work with Julie now but on a different level. Now that my core is so much stronger, I've decided I'd like to try and compete in the October 2005 NPC Bodybuilding Competition! I have the dedication and willpower to do this and Julie helps keep me on track and motivated! Thanks Julie! I look forward to continuing our training regime...yes, still at 5AM!"
Jim Jennings
Jim Jennings was referred to Julie Gronquist by a neurologist with the goal of increasing strength in his lower body and decreasing lower back pain due to a previous back surgery. Due to nerve damage in his left leg, he had difficulty using his left leg to climb stairs
Julie designed a strength training program that Jim completes at home on his own and he also meets with Julie weekly at the studio. Jim came in at about 50-60% of normal strength and is now at 95% of normal strength and is walking up the stairs pain free with both legs.
Here is some of what Jim had to say about personal training: “As long as I maintain the exercise program I learned from Julie, my back pain is minimal and half the time not there at all. I continue to work with Julie in order to maintain my achievements and remain fit. It has become a habit that I enjoy.”
Jim has really made exercise a part of his daily life in order to maintain his health and sustain his strength. He even exercises on his vacations!! Way to go Jim—you'll be leaping tall buildings soon!
